Chichester Cemetery Trustees · Meeting of October 5, 2026

NH CHICHESTER — Chichester Cemetery Trustees completed a multi-cemetery tree removal project with significant damage at multiple sites. The trustees met October 5 with Ruth Hammen, Fred Shaw, and Brenda Boswak, finishing removal at Brown and True Cemeteries with no damage but sustaining contractor damage at Knowlton-Edgerly, Kaime, and Leavitt Cemeteries including four lot corners damaged, bark scarring on gravestones, and debris left in fields. Selectman Jeremy Letendre intervened to ensure contract fulfillment.

The board adopted aluminum corner markers to mark cemetery lots following a presentation from Canterbury Cemetery Historian Mark Stevens, and the trustees reconciled expenditures and prepared the 2027 budget and grounds maintenance RFP, with Ruth Hammen and Brenda Boswak attending New Hampshire Cemetery Association training October 20.
