Chichester Select Board approves food pantry debit card policy, explores trust fund

NH CHICHESTER — Chichester Select Board refines emergency debit card policy for food pantry operations. Welfare Director Frank Swirko won board backing for a $1,000 daily and single-transaction limit on town-issued debit card access to purchase perishable and special-diet items for the Chichester Community Cupboard; the board also unanimously approved a $480 check and a $35 reimbursement and unanimously accepted a road agreement for Bear Hill Estates. Staff will draft a warrant article establishing a dedicated Food Pantry Trust Fund to protect donated money and bypass current restrictions that intertwine pantry funds with the general budget.
