NH CHICHESTER — Chichester Select Board lifts spending freeze on strong June 30 cash position of $2.4 million. Treasurer Robyn LeBreton presented a new analytical reporting format and secured Board consensus for a four-CD investment strategy designed to lock in $1.55 million across three staged school payments (September, October, November), with an estimated $4,000 in interest earnings; a rolling CD for the December Merrimack County payment (historically over $900,000) was approved with planned seeding of $200,000 followed by $100,000 monthly increments. The Board unanimously approved a $14,586.28 boiler purchase from the Town Office Equipment Capital Reserve Fund, with installation August 12.
Chairman Matt Stolnis rejected a three-year, $40,000-annually IT services contract from Block 5, citing unacceptable seven-day notice and concerns over mandated hardware spending, and will pursue competitive bidding and month-to-month alternatives.
