NH CHICHESTER — Select Board awards cemetery tree contract and approves highway safety grant. Police Chief Wright reported the department is on pace with last year's 296 calls and will host National Night Out on August 5 at Carpenter Park featuring a National Guard Blackhawk landing; the Board unanimously approved a $8,500 Highway Safety Grant for patrol operations and unanimously awarded a $35,900 cemetery tree removal project to Accurate Tree Service, completion by September 30. Fire Chief Robinson reported the operating budget at 35 percent spent with a new ambulance expected mid to late August; Road Agent Joe stressed urgency in stockpiling sand and salt before winter and requested Board approval for an excavator rental to address severe drainage issues on Granny Howe and Swiggy Brook Roads.
