NH CHICHESTER — Chichester Cemetery Trustees move forward with the $35,000 cemetery tree removal project. The board of Trustees — Ruth Hammen, Fred Shaw, and Brenda Boswak — met April 6 to confirm approval of a warrant article appropriating $35,000 for tree removal across the town's 21 cemeteries, along with a separate $9,000 budget line item. The Trustees prioritized gravestone restoration at Kaime Cemetery through contractor Don Cotnoir of NH Monuments and agreed to place Betsy Ross flags on Revolutionary War veterans' gravesites for America's 250th anniversary.
Selectman Matt Stolnis, serving as ex-officio to the Commission, assisted with surveying the cemeteries and tagging trees for removal as part of a blind bid process.
