Chichester Cemetery Trustees reject combined tree removal warrant article

Chichester Cemetery Trustees · Meeting of January 5, 2026

NH CHICHESTER — Chichester Cemetery Trustees reject $50,000 combined tree removal warrant article. At their January 5 meeting, Trustees Ruth Hammen, Fred Shaw, and Brenda Boswak declined a request from the Selectboard and Budget Committee to combine cemetery tree removal with Road Agent dead tree removal for a single warrant article, citing feasibility and cost concerns. The Trustees will maintain their $9,000 tree removal budget for cemeteries while the Road Agent retains $11,000 for roadside trees.

The Trustees also reported approximately 40 attendees at the December 13 Wreaths Across America ceremony at Veterans' Memorial Park, where 220 veteran gravesites received wreaths.
