Select Board backs $3.872M budget despite Advisory Committee objection

Selectmen's Office · Meeting of February 10, 2026

NH CHICHESTER — Chichester Select Board backs $3.872M operating budget in 2-1 split, clashing with Budget Advisory Committee over COLA and fiscal impact. Richard and Matt voted aye; Frank opposed. The board agreed unanimously to recommend six warrant articles, unanimously rejected two capital items (the $80,000 Fire Command Vehicle and $15,000 drone), and split 2-1 to recommend the $80,000 Fire Rescue Apparatus & Equipment reserve.

Passage of all warrant articles would add roughly $240 annually on a $500,000 home.
